About Us - International MPS Society

Mission

Connect: Bring together a broad audience including policy makers (government, regulators), funders (health foundations, charities), the academic research community (universities, research and knowledge institutes), environmental and human toxicity, industries (pharmaceutical, chemical, food, cosmetics and other industries), medical centers and practitioners, patient associations, and service/testing centers from all over the world. It will allow communication between different stakeholders as well as interaction between young scientists and senior experts in the MPS field, which will not only promote international standardization and harmonization of MPS, but also establish a global training environment.
Exchange: Facilitate collaborative environment; learning from each other about challenges and opportunities. Implement global cooperative efforts to advance MPS development, promote this technology and accelerate acceptance by regulators and end users. This is needed to maximize its potential to advance the life sciences, from basic to clinical research, from drug screening to safety assessment.
Educate: The mission is not only education of a new generation of scientist, but also established scientists entering the field, and regulators to allow the rapid, safe and responsible adoption of this technology.

The vision is achieved through:

Education (empower current and future society members with the knowledge and resources needed in biomedical research)
Community (cultivate a diverse, inclusive and engaged community by increasing access and opportunities for interaction)
Increase awareness and understanding of the utility of MPS in biomedical research, its impact on health, environment and economy, and emphasize the need for funding
